Discipleship Pastor to Youth
OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a Godly leader with a passion for discipling youth. The ideal candidate is a man who is passionate about discipleship and will develop a plan that leads young people to become growing life-long followers of Christ. The individual will relate well with youth, parents, and adults. This role will require a candidate with demonstrated experience equipping the Body of Christ for growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the church’s efforts to develop a strong Youth Discipleship ministry. Ages 11 to 18.
- Reach out to unchurched youth in the community, engage them with the gospel and include them in discipleship.
- In consultation with other church leadership, develop an annual budget for Youth ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget.
- Develop a Bible teaching plan for the youth that takes into consideration God’s Word and the spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental needs of the youth in our community.
- Participate in general pastoral duties as needed (wedding, funerals, counseling, etc.).
- Be available to preach and teach the Bible when asked.
- Regularly report to the church’s leadership about developments in the youth ministry.
- Develop summer camping activities the church’s youth can participate in.
- In cooperation with the Missions Team and the Evangelism Team routinely lead the youth in short-term missions? experiences (alternating between local, domestic, and international).
- Participate in all staff meetings and retreats.
REQUIREMENTS
- The minister shall have a genuine commitment to the gospel and a call to pastoral ministry.
- The minister will strive to have a servant attitude in personal and professional relationships
- Understanding of and willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the church.
- Be in agreement with the church covenant and statement of faith.
- He and his immediate family must become members of Park Baptist Church.
- Strong ability to relate to people of varying socioeconomic levels, and generations.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A growing Christian faith and character.
- A commitment to the mission of the church.
- A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirement for leaders (1 Tim 3:1-13; 2 Tim 2; Titus 1:5-9)
RELATIONSHIPS
- A growing Christian faith and character.
- Be under direct supervision and report directly to the pastor, as well as meet with the pastor weekly, to share and plan work; also, relate to the personnel committee.
- Love their own family and give them the necessary priority as example to others
